When her husband is murdered abroad, an ex-lawyer’s search for the truth exposes a deadly corporate conspiracy.

When Sarah Manning’s husband, Lee, is killed while on business in Montreal, her life back in Dublin starts to spin out of control.  Sarah soon realises she knew little about her husband’s past or his job at a powerful international pharmaceutical company.  Assigned to the case, Detective Emer Byrne doggedly investigates the conflicting evidence, even in defiance of her superior’s orders.  As more lies surface, Sarah begins to suspect that Lee’s murder could be connected to the death of her first husband.  Did both men know a terrible secret that got them killed?

Written by Emmy-awarding winning Ron Hutchinson (‘Traffic’, ‘The Simon Wiesenthal Story’), starring Elaine Cassidy (‘No Offence’, ‘The Paradise’), Angeline Ball (‘The Commitments’, ‘Shameless’) and Morten Suurballe (‘The Killing’), produced by Saffron Moon and Facet4, ACCEPTABLE RISK is a gripping international thriller that follows Sarah’s high-stakes fight for the truth amidst a corporate, police and political conspiracy.

The series was shot in Ireland and first broadcast on RTÉ One (Ireland), Acorn TV (US) and Super Channel (Canada). ‘Acceptable Risk’ is an official Ireland-Canada Co-Production.

“…a highly engaging, twist-filled journey.”

- The Globe & Mail.

“…a polished, confident production with a distinctive, slightly laid-back vibe.”

“…hits all the right notes without trying too hard – or being too predictable…it does a great job of keeping us guessing.”

“[Angeline] Ball’s performance – easy, unforced, commendably underplayed – makes her seem more at home with the drama’s unhurried wariness, alive to its maze of deflective surfaces.”

- The Irish Times
